NEW - U12 Champions League Structure and Rules

The Outline for the  2024/2025 for the U12’s Champions League

  • U12A -8 teams 
  • U12B -8 teams 
  • U12C -7 teams

All teams play each other once the league position will determine which competition you will go into next and who you will play.

Positions 1-4 in the table will go into the champions league knockout semi final on 12th May

1st place v 4th Place

2nd Place v 3rd Place

Positions 5-8 in the table will play in the Europa League knockout Semi Final on the 12th May

5th place v 8th Place

6th Place v 7th Place

please note in 12C 5th Place will go direct to the final and 6th and 7th place will have a semi final to determine the other finalist.  

 

The final will be held on the 19th May

 

League Position determination

  • Teams will be awarded 3pts for a win and 1 for a draw.
  • Teams tied on points will then be determined by 
    • goal difference 
    • then goals scored 
    • then head to head
    •  
  • Any fixtures cancelled by a team having made themselves available to play in a block of fixtures  will result in the points being awarded to the opposition with a 3-0 victory

Player Eligibility

  • Players can be signed until Saturday 22nd March, but may not be signed specifically for the final round of the competition (unless agreed by the league)
  • You are only permitted to register 18 players per team at one time

Other Rules

  • Teams must still adhere to the Mercy rule (a team 5 goals behind may bring on additional player, and another at 7 goals), if the goal difference decreases by 2 goals (to 3 or 5) then the player must be removed.
  • The match up rule is still in effect. This means that if a team can only field 7 or 8 players, the opposition must match up. Repeated occurrences of fielding insufficient players will be monitored by the league  ( this may impact entry into future competitions.)
